This votive was constructed of a glass vase (I picked up on trash day !). I used sea glass for a translucent glow. This was all found and re-purposed materials.

This was an antique carousel horse brought over from England.  As you can see, we had to restore some of the wood.

This was a lot of fun to work on. The owner of the carousel researched the original colors of the horse found in a book of antique carousels. I custom mixed and hand painted all of the colors on the body of the horse.  The tail and the mane were sized and then gilded with 23 kt. gold leaf.

My goal on this particular project was to think out of the box and use several different textures and materials to come up with an interesting mix. I used broken plates for the rim of the pot. Beach pebbles, marbles and mosaic glass tiles were used to give the pot some different textures and colors. With the beach pebbles, instead of mounting them flat, I stood them on edge for added depth.

This was a very special project. The name “Nazar” was the actually signature of the boat owner’s father. The custom designed graphic was a memorial to his father. The lettering is sparcal gold with a black outline.

This mosaic dish was made from a clay saucer.  I used glass and mirror tiles for the bottom of the dish. The rim of the dish is a combination of rocks and slag found on the beach.
